Our mission/vision
statement:
The East Coast Chiapas
Solidarity Committee is dedicated to facilitating the encounter of
students and activists of all ages from the East Coast of Turtle
Island (occupied territories of the United States, North America)
with the Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Spanish and Maya Languages Center
in Chiapas, Mexico. We aspire to amplify the work of this
language school by spreading the word, and preparing and accrediting students to attend. Our mission and vision is informed, inspired and accountable to the responsibility, equality, dignified
solidarity and collectivism exemplified by the Zapatista
Councils of Good Government.
The Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Spanish and Maya Languages Center
"The Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Secondary School, through the Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Spanish and Maya Languages Center, shares classes with those who wish to lend support that will help feed the young students in our secondary school. As you may know, the ESRAZ is a project in autonomous education built with its own resources and the solidarity of national and international civil society. Therefore, the education being designed and carried out is an education not only for the indigenous people of Chiapas Language Center

The East Coast Chiapas Solidarity Committee is one of three organizations in the United States that has been authorized by the Zapatista Council of Good Government in Oventic to accredit students to attend the Zapatista Rebel Autonomous Spanish and Maya Languages Center. Our purpose is to amplify the work of this school specifically on the East Coast of Turtle Island (occupied territories of the United States, North America). If you reside on the West Coast or the Midwest, you may prefer to apply via the Chiapas Support Committee in Oakland California, or the Mexico Solidarity Network in Chicago, Illinois.
